HealthTech program seeks to resolve the range of issues faced by Japanese healthcare industry, among them are aging population and growing healthcare costs, as well as need to contribute for better quality of life for patients. We want to create a range of services and solutions that can contribute in solving the stated challenges via strong mentoring and support to startups.
What is HealthTech?
An increasingly aging population is a burgeoning issue in Japan today, and the cost of universal healthcare is growing, posing a social crisis.
Health tech refers to emerging option with sector using technology to usher in cutting-edge change to healthcare services.
As more startups enter the healthcare space, various medical issues can be resolved, and patients' Quality Of Life will improve. The Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW)are actively supporting the creation of this new space.
The Acceleration program is designed to help support startups' Growth model and in creating the new value 'It caters s specialized knowledge of the healthcare industry, advice with correct understanding of industry regulations, and offers access to variety of healthcare stakeholders such as physicians, pharmacies etc. on the other hand program also offers mentoring support on fundraising, general management via expertise and experience of Globis Venture Capital. In this way, we hope to contribute to the healthcare space more effectively.
In a closed loop environment, applicant firms will be screened and a final 3-5 firms selected.
After introducing these startups to their supporting mentors, mentoring on certain topics and themes as mutually agreed will be conducted for a 2-3 month period.
Following this, progress and results will be presented at a demonstration event (Demo Day).
